Over the last 20 years the ‘Health Club’ as a business type as well as a concept has gone major changes. During this time it has transformed from a utilitarian facility, which provides equipment and space for a specific physical activity, into a place for an all-around social event. As the idea of fitness expanded to encompass nutrition, diversity of activities and spirituality so did the container in which it takes place.

Developmental Resources followed those changes and as an architecture firm helped existing health clubs to transform and expand in order to meet their developing needs. Developmental Resources was also architect for several new facilities where the understanding of change was carried into the design to allow future development as the field keeps on expanding. In all, Developmental Resources was involved in the design for 13 different health clubs.
